YAM
YAM (Yet Another Meme)

Cookiecrumb (who's mad and eats (I wonder if that's an American "mad" or an English "mad"?)) tagged me to tell ten weird and random facts about myself. Just to be contrary, I think I'll tell seven true things and three lies and see how good CC's truthometer is.
1) I once restored antique furniture for a living.
2) My favorite movie is Eating Raoul.
3) I was arrested in 1968 for indecent exposure at an anti-war rally.
4) I hate gardening.
5) Between 1995 and 2003 I moved six times -- a total of 12000 miles.
6) My favorite movie is The Red Balloon.
7) I have almost died twice.
8) I've written computer viruses.
9) My wife left me for another woman.
10) I've twice finished "in the money" at poker championships.
Any guesses?
And to carry on this little paroxysm of self-revelation I tag:
Anne at Anne's Food
Stephanie at Dispensing Happiness
Cindy at Food Migration
Megan at I Heart Bacon
Melissa at Traveler's Lunchbox

I'll get that up this weekend...and while I know you're a bit older than me, I'm pretty sure you're not old enough to have protested in '68!
Stephanie,
You don't think so?
"Paroxysm of self-revelation" is one of the better phrases I have ever heard. That pretty much sums up my entire blog. Hah.
Ok...are you???
Stephanie,
Don't you want to see what others think? And if that's one lie, which would be the other two lies?
I yam both kinds of mad, Kevin.
My not-so-reliable untruthiness detector says #6, 8 and 10 are the fibs.
CC,
You got one right.
Okay, just for fun I am guessing the fibs are 4,6 & 9.
(And the paella looks fab!)
I was just kinda spoofin' anyway.
Guess what: I'm looking at your blog in Opera browser today, and it's much more beautiful than in Safari. So I opened Firefox, and it's beautiful there too. Sniff... I'm gradually being weaned from my beloved Safari.
Question for you and your readers: Does anybody use IE anymore? It's pretty extinct for Mac.
Richmond,
Nope.[g] And the paella was really good -- one of my favorite dishes.
CC,
I'm glad to hear it looks good in Opera, Safari, and Firefox. I do occasionally check it in those browsers, but not as often as I should. According to my stats 90% of my readers use IE and Firefox is second at 5%. Safari is about 1.5%
For those who were wondering:
2) I enjoyed "Eating Raoul" but my favorite movie is "The Red Balloon."
3) The cops at the anti-war rally didn't bust us, they just made us get dressed and leave.
10) I've never played competition poker, although I have friend who plays poker for a living.
Dang! I wasn't even close! ;)
Richmond,
Don't sweat it. I'm his brother and I only got one right. Kevin stinks at poker.
Ok...I'm up.
wow, what were the two times in 7?
This is too funny Kevin. Although I'm really sad to hear that #9 wasn't a lie...
I'll try and get my post up soon! (Which in Megan-time is looking like 1-2 months.)
M
Some of those things you just can't make up, eh?
Oh my. I was ready to bet it was actually 7 lies and 3 truths. #9 sucks. As does all that moving. And dude, The Red Balloon? Plus (I'm crushed), YOU HATE GARDENING?
At least you didn't tag me for this one, too. Oh wait. Somebody else did.
BTW, I use IE and don't have a clue how to use any of those other things (and I cannot believe people can sneak behind the scenes in my blog and poke around), but if y'all haven't realized it by now, I know a lot about (excuse me) manure, but don't know shit about computers. : )
Susan,
"Oh my. I was ready to bet it was actually 7 lies and 3 truths. #9 sucks."
I live an occasionally interesting life.[wry grin]
"And dude, The Red Balloon?"
There's a back story.
"Plus (I'm crushed), YOU HATE GARDENING?"
Don't be. I'm one of the world's few absolutely dedicated gardening spectators. My appreciation is completely unsullied by knowledge or envy.
