As far as I'm concerned, the only excuse for summer is tomatoes and the BLT is one of the two ultimate expressions of that vegetable. But oddly enough, this was the first time I made a BLT using my own sourdough bread. Outstanding!
Funny! You and I both posted about a BLT! Your sandwich looks good, and I know mine was awesome! Now that local lettuce is so hard to find (too hot), I await autumn when the green leaves will rise again.
If I wasn't married, I would tell you I'm in love. This is my favorite sandwich of all time. Sigh.
